Delhi Capitals moved a spot up in the table after they beat Punjab Kings by 15 runs. The Capitals, who are out of the tournament dented Punjab Kings’ chances, as the Shikhar Dhawan-led side can now finish on 14 points if they win their last group stage match.
In the first game at the Dharamshala, DC, batting first, put a mammoth 213/2 on the board, courtesy of fifty-plus scores from Prithvi Shaw and Rilee Rossouw. Shaw amassed 54(38), while Rossouw struck his maiden IPL fifty with an unbeaten 82(37).
In reply, Shikhar Dhawan, who disappointed the critics with his leadership, scored a first-ball duck, while Liam Livingstone was the sole positive for Punjab with the bat, as he scored 94(48), which included nine sixes and five fours.
Several cricketers reacted to Delhi Capitals’ win and even criticised Shikhar Dhawan’s leadership. Here are some of the reactions.
DC will next play CSK on May 20, while PBKS to play RR on May 19.
