Former Sunrisers Hyderabad player Yusuf Pathan has revealed shocking details about David Warner’s sacking from the captaincy and departure from Sunrisers Hyderabad. It was reported that the management did not treat Warner properly, which forced the player to call off his association with the Orange Army.
The blame game was played around the coaches and the franchise owners, as many accused them of disrespecting the champion player who led them to the title in 2016. However, Yusuf said David was working against the franchise’s interest and was shown the door.
Pathan made the statement after Delhi Capitals, led by Warner, lost the game against SRH in IPL 2023.
“David Warner was sacked and dropped because his planning and strategies were against the interest of the Sunrisers Hyderabad. He was not taking anyone into confidence before making a call,” he said.
David’s days as DC captain also look numbered after the team’s pathetic display in the 16th season, where they lost 6 contests while winning two.
