Mumbai Indians avenged their defeat against Punjab Kings at the Wankhede Stadium after they beat the Shikhar Dhawan-led side by six wickets at the PCA Stadium in Mohali.
The hosts, batting first, put on a mammoth total of 214/3 on the board, which was the same total they put at Mumbai’s home ground.
Liam Livingstone scored an unbeaten 82(42), while Jitesh Sharma amassed 49(27). In reply, Mumbai Indians got off to the worse possible start as they lost Rohit Sharma for a duck.
Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan stitched a 116-run stand and were the major contributors behind MI’s win. Tilak Varma scored the winning runs, as the youngster gathered 26(10) to seal the win for the five-time winners.
