I don’t think he will’: Chennai Super Kings legendry batter drops MS Dhoni bombshell

The playing future of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, in the Indian Premier League (IPL), has become a topic of intense speculation. Former CSK player, Matthew Hayden, has added fuel to the fire by suggesting that the upcoming 2023 edition might mark Dhoni’s final appearance as a player.

“Whether he plays or not in IPL next year is almost irrelevant. Personally I don’t think he will last long but then he is MS Dhoni,” said Hayden.

Dhoni’s exceptional leadership has garnered widespread acclaim, guiding CSK to a second-place finish and securing a coveted spot in the IPL final.

Hayden, who had the privilege of playing under Dhoni’s captaincy, hailed his ability to transform “trash into treasure.” He also emphasized the strong alignment between Dhoni, the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association, and the CSK franchise, highlighting Dhoni’s methodical approach to building a successful team.

Despite the buzz surrounding his future, Dhoni has chosen to remain tight-lipped, leaving fans and experts eagerly awaiting his decision.

With ample time on his side, Dhoni stated that he will take around 8 to 9 months to weigh his options and make a well-considered choice. As the next IPL auction approaches in December, the cricketing world will be holding its breath to learn whether the iconic figure of MS Dhoni will continue to grace the IPL stage or bid farewell to the tournament.
