Shubman Gill, the talented Indian batter, recently showed his support for a fan’s open letter to Virat Kohli fans. This comes after reports of online abuse targeted at Gill and his sister.
Gill’s exceptional performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for Gujarat Titans has been nothing short of impressive. He currently stands as the second-highest run-scorer in the league, with an outstanding average of 56.67 and a phenomenal strike-rate of 152.47, accumulating a total of 680 runs in 14 matches.
During the IPL, Gill achieved a remarkable feat by scoring back-to-back centuries, joining the ranks of Shikhar Dhawan, Jos Buttler, and Virat Kohli. His recent century against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) led to the team’s elimination from the competition.
Following RCB’s exit, social media was flooded with abuse against Gill and his family by individuals claiming to be “Virat Kohli and RCB Fans.” Many of these derogatory posts were made anonymously, hiding behind Kohli’s picture without revealing their true identity.
In response to to the incident, Gill liked a tweet containing an open letter to Virat Kohli fans, which called out the trolls for their actions. This gesture did not go unnoticed by Twitter users, who appreciated the young star’s reaction.
Recently, Gill left a heartwarming response to Kohli’s post on Instagram, following RCB’s elimination, showcasing their mutual respect and camaraderie.
