Former RCB skipper Virat Kohli scripted history against Sunrisers Hyderabad in their backyard on May 18, as the 34-year-old smashed his 6th IPL hundred to level Chris Gayle’s record of most hundreds in the history of IPL.
Virat amassed 100 (63), which included twelve fours and four sixes. With the scintillating knock, Kohli broke a plethora of records and left behind the likes of Virender Sehwag, David Warner and Suresh Raina for several feats.
Firstly, the right-hand batter completed 7500 runs for RCB and became the first player across leagues to score 7500+ runs for a single franchise.
Another special feat came for Virat when he completed 500 runs this season. With that, he levelled David Warner’s feat of scoring 500+ runs in six different seasons.
Another special record scripted by Virat that justifies his ‘chase master’ tag is that Kohli smashed the most hundreds in a run-chase by an Indian. It was the 2nd time the 34-year-old struck a century while chasing a target. He left behind Virender Sehwag and Suresh Raina. Here is the complete list of Indians with the most IPL 100s while chasing
