Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Lucknow Super Giants in a low-scoring contest on May 1, Monday at the Ekana Stadium. The match ended with a verbal brawl between Virat Kohli, Naveen-ul-Haq, and Gautam Gambhir. Faf du Plessis, the captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore claimed that Virat Kohli’s aggressive side was the best. On Monday night, Kohli fired up the entire crowd, which was strongly in favour of the Bengaluru team.
Du Plessis praised Kohli for playing well against LSG and said it was fantastic to see him fired up. “Aggression is the best version of Virat, isn’t it? To see him pumped up like that, that’s when he is at his very best. So it is really awesome to be a part of it and my job is to keep things calm on the field, which I did really well,” said Faf.
Lucknow produced one of its poorest batting wickets in the IPL, making it difficult for both teams to execute their shots. Faf said the intention was to take on pacers because they knew it would be difficult to score runs against spinners.
The RCB skipper, who made his way back into the starting lineup on Monday, scored 44 runs off 40 balls and was named player of the match. In the RCB innings, he and Virat Kohli stitched a crucial 62-run partnership for the first wicket, which ended up being a game-winning one.
