In a do-or-die game for the Delhi Capitals, they made a strong statement with the ball against Punjab Kings, as the David Warner-led side restricted Punjab Kings to 167/7 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium despite a century from Prabhsimran Singh’s century.
The match is extra special for Ishant Sharma, as he played his 100th IPL game. Standing in his 100th game, Sharma picked up two wickets in his three overs.
The most special wicket was of Liam Livingstone in the 5th over, when the English batter charged down the pitch but completely missed the length and got clean bowled. Following the wicket, Ishant gave him a flying-kiss send-off, which has been doing rounds on the internet. IPL’s official Twitter handle took to the platform and wrote, “TIMBER! In his 100 games in the IPL, Ishant has taken 81 wickets, which includes a five-wicket haul. In this season, the DC seamer has picked up eight wickets, his best since 2019.
